Sophie Brasselet News & Views Open Access 07 Nov 2022 Optically-generated focused ultrasound for noninvasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision We report optically-generated focused ultrasound for non-invasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision of 83 µm, which is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of conventional transcranial focused ultrasound. Yueming LiYing JiangJi-Xin Cheng Article Open Access 03 Nov 2022 Experimentally unsupervised deconvolution for light-sheet microscopy with propagation-invariant beams We present experimentally unsupervised learned deconvolution for light-sheet microscopy using propagation-invariant beams. By training a generative adversarial network using simulated paired images consistent with the physics of the imaging system, and real unpaired experimental data, we create a network that can rapidly and robustly deconvolve microscopy images encoded by a complex point-spread function, such as from Airy or Bessel beams. The method is facile and does not need data for training outwith that obtained during conventional imaging.
