Long-term Recruitment for Postdoctoral Researchers/Research Fellows

I. Job Description

The research group of Professor Hui Liu at the School of Physics, Nanjing University, is seeking to hire one postdoctoral researcher and one research fellow from within or outside the university to meet research needs.

II. Job Responsibilities

Conduct theoretical calculations, experimental techniques, and applied research on the fundamental physics of metamaterials and the development of integrated photonic chip applications.

III. Qualifications

  1. Hold a Ph.D. from a high-level university domestically or internationally. Passionate about scientific research, responsible, optimistic, honest, communicative, and team-oriented, with the ability to adapt quickly to new work environments.

  2. Research focus in areas such as transformation optics chips, infrared thermal radiation metasurfaces, or topological optical lattices.

  3. Strong academic background and proficiency in English, with at least two first-author publications in reputable journals.

IV. Salary and Benefits

  1. Salary and benefits comply with Nanjing University regulations. The base annual salary for postdoctoral researchers/assistant researchers ranges from 200,000 to 500,000 RMB, with additional performance-based rewards.

  2. Selected candidates for the Nanjing University "Yuxiu Program" will receive an annual salary of 240,000–600,000 RMB and a research grant of 50,000–300,000 RMB. Those selected for the national "Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program" will receive an annual salary starting at 300,000 RMB.

  3. During the appointment, benefits include access to university-affiliated schools for children, public healthcare, social insurance, and eligibility for university transitional housing or housing/rental subsidies.

  4. Support and assistance will be provided for applications to national and provincial research grants, such as the National Natural Science Foundation, national R&D programs, and the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation.

Graduate Student Recruitment

  1. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in physics or optoelectronics, a passion for optical research, and coursework in optics. They should be interested in fundamental physics and cutting-edge applications of nano-optics, with aspirations to become optical scientists or experts in optical applications.

  2. Strong English reading and writing skills, with a passing score on the CET-6 exam, the ability to read English literature, and the potential to write academic papers in English after training.

  3. Completion of computer-related coursework with basic programming skills, and the ability to learn and use professional software for optical modeling and simulations.

  4. Good communication skills, the ability to build relationships with peers and advisors, and a proactive attitude toward helping others and seeking assistance when needed.
